I grew up on comics ( mostly X-Men ) and now my 12yo son is getting into it..I stopped reading around Strife introduction..and when I wanted to start again I was lost..people had history rewriten..this and that changed and gave me a headache.. after finding you channel it's like someone suddenly revealed the secrets of the universe .. keep up the good work.

I’m a huge DC fan and I have to say the new 52 is the main reason I started reading, yeah it wasn’t great but at the end of the day it accomplished its goal of bringing in new readers. I have always wanted to get into marvel but always felt very overwhelmed, even while trying marvel unlimited for a while, on where to start. Even trying to watch your videos I get confused and again, overwhelmed. I love the characters and I would be so in for a total reboot!

Even for die-hard older fan whose only been reading since the 80's. I feel that the reboot timeline that you have mapped out works, and would be great for someone like my son who is just getting into the comics. It gives me a chance to rediscover a familiar; albeit new world and it allows him to discover the world for himself, fresh and in his own language. (I don't know about you, but having to read the books that were written in the 60's and 70's were painful.) Not only that, but the idea that you create generational characters that grow up, grow old, retire and or die is super intriguing to me.

Totally agree. I was a collector almost 2 decades ago. Now that my son is getting older and he has questions about where heros came from, I'd prefer to "teach him how to fish" than sending him to Wikipedia. Starting from zero would be a great way to get him started.

That would be super cool. I actually love this channel. It’s cool to learn about all these comic book origins and timelines and stuff. I was always into comics but I never stuck to one story except Superman. I’ve always been into DC but I’ve read Marvel stuff too. To have a reboot and get my kid into this kind of stuff now that Marvel Movies are kicking ass he wants to know so this would be cool for him to learn about these characters.

Rob....pls start writing for marvel comics.
The way you explain things and orgenize them is pure gold.
You can take the most confusing story ( for example crisis on infinite earth ) and make it clear.

I havent read many comics but I have been watching these videos for a little while now. So I have at least a general understanding of the characters but I still like the ideas presented. It makes a lot more sense than just "read ALL of this good luck have fun". Something solid new readers can grab onto is rarely a bad idea in my opinion. Makes the process of getting into comics easier but I also like the idea of having something for the veteran readers. Not just because it would keep them reading, but also because if I were a new reader I'd be able to go back and have a new appreciation for the comic that got me reading that specific line of comics.

Marvel Universe needs to follow DC comics' example. The DC comics chronology is incredible, and organized even though some of their movies suck. Except Wonder Woman.

I think an interesting way to set up the origins of like the devients, eternals, Kree and Skrulls would be like you said using the celestials as a jump in point. I think it would be very cool to have like a timelapse walk through of there creation of all these different groups from a celestial perspective.
