Creating a Character Selection Screen - Unity Engine

This is a simple tutorial on how to set up a basic Character Selection screen. The scene uses simple box colliders for click/touch detection and a rigidbody setup for the dragging/swiping functionality. This system works for both iOS and Android as well as for desktop applications. Use this as a base and customize on top of it, modify it, and create something unique for your game.

Yeah I just can remember what I changed. I got the drag to work but still cant get the selection script to work. Ill look into what I did more and get back with you.

had a homer simpson moment. Sorry, I figured it out. Had to constrain inside the rigidbody. Great tutorial by the way. Thanks for these.

any idea on why i cant use your glow and platform prefabs? they show up as white blank objects

I don't know much about JavaScript and primarily only work with c#. Is there an easy way to select multiple characters then place them in the next scene? If not, could you translate the code to c# so I could do it myself?

Really great work man. I just can't get the selection and drag feature to work. I have both characterSelect and DragRigidBody on my empty gameObject Character_Selector. No errors until I go to play and click on collider.

I can't even get this package to load into my project correctly. I load the scene into a new project and get a couple of red errors and several yellow errors. I run the test scene and its doesn't work right. There is no input from the mouse and the only thing that shows in the scene are the boxes, the platforms aren't visible. Please help, I really wanted to use a modified version of this for my character selection.

Hey James. Everything seems to work for me except that when I drag it spins my characters around in all directions. I can't figure out why it's not constrained to only move around the Y.

Amazing tutorial! Perfect for what I needed. One question/request- I creating a game which requires male and female characters. Would you be able to provide a script to switch each model gender via button, or would it be easier to just add them as separate character slots?

woooo, this is realy avesome, i always need this :D my game is multiplayer, its hawe player spawner point, so do i can make 4 diferent looking players, then 4 diferent spawnpoints for each diferent player, and then when u choose ur player from this selector, it juts spawn selected player-spawnpoint in diferent/same scene?
