With Priestly. In the UK he's hanging on - just - because An Inspector Calls is still taught in schools. His novels have faded a bit but he's just about hanging in there.

Hooray! Another Brattle Book haul, thank you, Steve, thank you, thank you! You sound much better, by the way, I hope you're feeling much better!

There *is* something powerful, meditative & oracular about surrendering yourself to the book hunt flow. You learn how to read them. I've commented on this in other people's haul vids (occasionally - no proselytizing) and it sends some people into a paroxysm of apoplexy if I inform them that an out of the way thrift store suddenly has a run of carefully collected & maintained rare paperbacks because their loving curator has died.
Feel free to diagram that sentence for your entertainment and my shame.
For those following from home: That Science Fiction Book Club ed. of The Best of Edmund Hamilton IS the same as the Del Ray PB.

Flambard's Confession sounded so interesting I found a copy online and ordered it. Thanks for making me aware that this book existed.

Steve, I noticed your reference to Mervyn Peak. I am presently reading his Gormenghast novels. Have you discussed him in one of your videos? I would love to hear your thoughts on him and his works. Wonderful video as usual.

I have seen Michael K. Vaughan’s copy of that hardcover edition of _The Best of Edmund Hamilton_ edited by Leigh Brackett and also _The Best of Leigh Brackett_ edited by Edmund Hamilton. Those were among his Books That Time Forgot videos. Perhaps The Brattle will soon provide the complement to the book you bought on Wednesday.

I'm interested in reading Frank Barlow's book on Edward the Confessor, it sounds good.

It's clear that the Brattle is your FAVORITE used bookstore in Boston, but does it hold a more universally acknowledged position, say like Powell's or the Strand in their cities? I ask because I've not traveled much in Boston and I'd *like to think* it has a wealth of great bookstores, and would love to know more about them - Especially from the point of view of a veteran Book hunter. Perhaps a video?
Thank you.
