I just have it well tuned up and running good. Drive it 250 miles up and down hills with fuel cleaner and premium fuel. Clears up most all sluggish problems

One of the most successful local drag racers/was a mechanic had a garage near my house when I was a kid. Back in the 60s when he would tune a car, he would get the engine hot, then he would get a quart of water, remove the air cleaner, and semi-slowly pour that quart of cold water down the carburetor while he would work the throttle by hand. He would pour the whole quart of water in while revving the engine over about 15 seconds. The mud that came out of the exhaust pipe was carbon from the combustion chamber he said. He said it does not hurt the engine one bit, what do you think happens when you drive in a rainstorm. You just can’t put a whole bunch in at once or you will have a hydraulic lock in the combustion chamber. But he said you have to do it when everything is hot so you shock the carbon..He said if you ever see a car that had a bad head gasket that leaked water into the combustion chamber, that cylinder/ piston/ exhaust valve with the water leak, is usually perfectly clean, like new

success rate of cleaning a defunct catalytic converter is lower than 20 % imho. most of the time the super thin layer of precious metal coating is just gone together with the detergent or solvent you use to clean it, and u end up with a cleaned ceramic honeycomb which does not do any catalyst function at all.😣

In years of driving I’ve never had a single issue with cats.
Once a week I drive it hard and that seems to clear any crap out. Had loads of cars from different manufacturers and no probs with any. Seems short runs is the cause especially diesels.

This reminds me I need to get rid of my catalytic converters and replace them with straight pipes😁 I'll put them back on for next year's emissions test so that they don't wear out or go bad, that way I'll probably never have to buy new cats
