How to unlock the infrared camera hidden inside the Pixel 4

The Pixel 4 uses an infrared camera for face unlock. And you can use it as a regular camera to take IR pictures and videos!

Some people are reporting better luck with HedgeCam 2:

Tap the button that is normally for switching between front and back camera. Keep tapping until you get to the IR.

If you want to do this yourself on your own Pixel 4, I got it to work by installing Open Camera, in settings switch the API to Camera2, and then click the button to swap front/rear camera twice. It will cycle through rear, front, then front IR. It's been fun! Thanks!
