Side-by-side comparison of the KEEN Utility San Jose & Cincinnati 6" work boots.

These wedge sole boots are not equal. Take a close look at the Cincinnati, a much heavier duty bot than the San Jose.

This video helps a lot. As a plumbing contractor myself, I went with the San Jose WP a year ago and they've held up super well. I'm in the Midwest so that means snow, mud, rain, etc. I was looking at picking up the Cincinnati, so thanks for the vid.

I just got hired for my electrician apprenticeship and have been researching for my first work boots to buy. I think I'm now a Keen simp and was between the San Jose and the Cincinnati. Your comparison has made the decision for me: the Cincinnati. Thank you!

Thank you!! All the stores local only had the Cincinnati in stock, no San Jose to compare. I simply wanted a slightly less bulky boot for my uses. Your comparison helped me order the San Jose. Thanks again!

I understand this is an old video but my very recent pair San Jose's now have the Keen inner liner and a rope type laces. Yes, they are very comfortable. I walk on concrete 12 hours a day. My knees and lower back are very happy. Best money i've spent in a while.

This comparison was incredibly helpful. I am currently switching professions and am looking for quality, affordable boots, and these two are on the top of my list. Thank you

I love the Cincinnati. Been wearing them for a few years and they hold up very well

I was looking forward to somebody doing a comparison. I get the feeling we feel the same way about the San Jose. Love them, extremely comfortable but just can't handle my work.
I was excited to see the Cincinnati but wanted to see some reviews before I dropped the cash on them. Thanks!

Thanks for your review! Keen is one of the few boot companies that make a woman's boot size. I beat the hell out of my Thorogoods. I am looking for a waterproof boot for winter.
Thanks again!

I actually just bought the keen San Jose waterproof. I love em so much. I'm a crane operator so depending on my work scope, I can or cannot be on my feet alot. I'd say 80 percent I'm off. So looking forward to seeing how they stand up. And I got tuff toes for them, because I'm constantly kicking off snow or mud when I get into my cab. Thanks for the review!

I got the San Jose, I work at ups they sound prefect for what I’m doing. I should of watched this before I bought but I think I made the right choice regardless. Great review! Indoor use San Jose, outdoor Cincinnati.

As a Supervisor the San Jose boot serves its purpose very well light weight and comfortable. I where 8inch Carolinas when I do heavier duty work

I work in the chemical industry, and the Dover as well as the Cincinnati are my go to work boots. Both hold up well in all the liquor, and caustic I walk around in daily. Really really good boots.

Thanks for the review and describing the benefits of the wedge sole when working on concrete all day. I have been working in a warehouse for 6 months and have tried 2 different csa boots with heels and feet are in pain - I believe its plantar fasciitis. I have tried multiple insoles with minimal relief. The wedge sole with the support under the mid foot makes sense for working on hard surfaces.

I have been wearing the San Jose low top as a journeyman electrician doing service work for about 15 months I really like the boot for medium duty! granted I am in and out of office spaces or residential and never really hard on my boots. Now if I was on new construction sites like when I first turned out the San Jose boot wouldn’t last. But I’ll definitely look in to the Cincinnati if I am looking in to going back to new construction. Thanks for your review and good luck with the new boot!

Keen had a boot about 10 years ago that was a wedge sole but the toe had the rubber on it like their other boots. They were amazing boots. I just wish they would wrap the toe like the other boots again

Electrician here with a pair of san joses in illinois. Been 1+ year and they're holding up great... aside from the laces. Might need new laces soon but they're great boots

I have worn Justin, Ariat, Twisted x, Brahma, before finding keen. I have loved both styles I have tried. I am on my second pair of San Jose and they are great. San Jose do not hold up to my work environment. I am a service tech in a papermill and I am lucky to get 6 months out of them. I will get the Cincinnati next time so they can be resoled. My company pays for them but I want an extra pair in case I get completely soaked. Also, my first pair of San Jose I weighed 372lbs and they felt good for a BIG foot. Great review! Thanks

Super helpful, I've been debating on which one to get between these two. Thank you.

I’m a plumber too. I knew you were when I saw the toe was worn. Always on our knees working. Good review. I do service work now so I’m mostly in homes. I think the San Jose will be fine.
