Woman shot dead by Long Beach homeowner after harassing neighbors

Lauren Pozen reports from Long Beach, where a homeowner fatally shot a woman tormenting and even attacking one of his neighbors early Saturday morning. Family members say that the woman was undergoing a mental crisis and plans to pursue legal action against the man.

Her family claims excessive force was used but didn't think the she used excessive force when she dragged an innocent woman out of her car and beat her with a stick.

Family plans legal action, but has nothing to say about her behavior prior to the incident? She attacked another person, she was violent, erratic, possibly trespassing onto private property and presented herself as threat. The family should be apologizing to her neighbors, not dragging them to court.

If her relatives cared so much about her why didn't they do something to keep her from hurting innocent people. All they want is to get some easy money by by suing the neighbor.

The person who had to shoot the woman should sue the family because they were aware of her mental illness and did nothing to protect her or others. The family is the culprit in this case. All the people she harassed and assaulted should file a suit against her family for knowingly allowing her to cause harm.

A mental health crisis or not, people have a right to protect themselves and others from being physically harmed. From the reports so far this was self defense. Maybe her family should apologize for ignoring her obvious issues and putting society at risk from her. This cannot be the first outburst this woman has had.

Thank you to the homeowner who stepped in to save a woman from an assault. He took action when many would cower and not want to risk getting involved. The woman's family seems to be in denial of how dangerous she was.

My question is: Where was her family when this was all happening? Protect your family especially when somebody has mental health issues. I personally know how it affects others.
