How to build a Mini DIY Greenhouse for THRIVING Transplants

Показать описание
The biggest risk our transplants face when placed in the garden are the cool early-Spring nights. With a cold snap not yet out of the question, all of our hardwork starting seeds and raising the plant babies is on the line. So, to ensure they have not only as smooth of a transition into the garden as possible but begin to thrive as quickly as possible, we want to create as ideal of an environment for them as possible. One of the best ways to do this is with Mini DIY-Greenhouses. These structures trap warm air around the plant during the day and protect them during the cold night time temperatures. By utilizing one of these Mini DIY Greenhouse structures your plant babies will thrive from the moment they're planted in the garden!

If you put another sheet on the inside you'd get an air bubble in there which helps keep the temperature even better during the night, like a winter jacket for plants :D

Thank you! I wanted a greenhouse and this is what fits my needs. Starting with the clear storage containers. And, yes, getting your hands into the soil is restorative.

I dont know what zone i live in, just northbof parallel 49. I need to make small green houses to protect my roses and other perennials from frost/snow or too much rain. Your first idea is easy enough, I can modify it ( lack of some tools). Thanks for sharing.

Ha! That’s fantastic. I’m absolutely sacrificing one of my blanket totes and going to use this right now. Great video!

Loved this video! Thank you, I was looking for some ideas for DIYing structures for the garden and those are both perfect! Will you make a video for DIY vertical structures for tomatoes or beans?

Love the idea but am concerned about wind and also the rain. You did something there but not sure how it would avoid the rain not weighing through? Thanks!

You need a burr grinder man, also, I use old water jugs for mini green houses. Works great on tomatoes and peppers

How do you keep mold out during long rain periods during which the greenhouse is closed? Does it not lack ventilation? Looks really cool!

I love it. Does it protect from aphids and snails? How long should I open the door

This a a very cool idea! The video is great for keeping the temperature regulated for colder months. I have a slightly different issue which is heat & direct sunlight. I have recently purchased a bonsai which I would like to grow out into a bigger tree (Basically going from bonsai, to tree and back to bonsai). I want to offer more light to the indoor plant, but the plant does not like direct sunlight. I am from South Africa and we can experience temperatures up to 38 degrees Celsius. I've place some shade netting around a structure with a wooden board over the top (this does not look great at all and I would like to build a proper enclosure for it). What would you suggest I do?

I’m wondering how this holds up in the wind. Does it need to be anchored in windy areas and will the plastic rip off the staple?

I was thinking about something like this, but how do you handle storms or high winds?
