Now this is a solid narrator. Captures the essence of the main dude more despite not being him. Makes me feel like I’m watching weird history

If original narrator ever leaves for good, then I think we've found our best replacement.

Jack Black’s mom worked on the Apollo program.

The Monkees’ Michael Nesmith’s mom invented Liquid Paper.

Both of Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielson’s parents were accomplished opera singers. ✌🏼

I read this story about Hugh Laurie and his dad. His father never told Hugh that he was into rowing; he apparently didn't want to influence Hugh into going into the sport or not. Hugh didn't find this out till he was rummaging around in his parents' attic one time, and found a sock with something heavy in it. It was an Olympic gold medal for rowing. He got into rowing at Cambridge all on his own, not knowing he was following in his father's footsteps.

Reuben's father while an Israeli Airman was even shot down over Israeli airspace and managed to safely crash land. However, rural Israeli's didn't even know they had an Air Force at the time, so local farmers tracked down the wreckage of his plane and shot at him assuming he was Syrian! IIRC Israel's Air Force at the time was only 4 fighter planes large lol. Reuben only got them to stop firing when he started yelling Hebrew phrases for deli meats, as that was the only Hebrew he knew when he grew up in NYC. What a tale!

During WW2 my father worked on British merchant marine convoys supplying war materials to England. During 2 separate trips the ships were torpedoed by German submarines. He and some of his other comrades were picked up from their life raft by another ship (again). After escaping death 2 times this way, father decided to jump ship in New York. However by coercion or get send back to Hong Kong, he was inducted into the US Army April 1943. During the whole duration of the war, father served in Al Levy's unit the 288th (Chinese regiment) Field Artillery Observation Battalion under General Patton. When father passed away we found his medals and some paperworks... He lived what we understand now with PTSD until the day he died. He must have witness some horrific nightmares. You being a top notch historian, could you tell us about the plights of unit 288th during WW2 so that our family and others have a better understanding of what Al Levy's soldiers went through... Thank you!
