I’ll explain: the purpose of the Dead Zones is to give players a way to compensate for an unwanted amount of travel in their controlling device. This is especially useful when using a controller to game with. If you notice unwanted travel you can set the Dead Zone setting to nullify the effect. However, unwanted travel can occur when players have there sensitivity too high and they have the Jimmy Fingers. When you shoot, does your thumb inadvertently move causing you to miss the shot? Yeah, you got the Jimmy Fingers. People have been increasing the Dead Zones to counteract the unwanted movement that plagues their controller and/or fingers. It works, but wasn’t intended for that purpose, and can make things worse if you have acceleration on.

Set the Dead Zone to the lowest amount that allows you to have no unwanted travelling with your controlling device, unless you have the Jimmy Fingers in which case set it higher to compensate for that. Just make sure you turn off acceleration.

This was the single most influential settings I played with to get good. I went from 3-4 kills per round to 15-30

If your GOING to have a heavy dead zone your aim acceleration better be high or you won't catch up with something moving...Which feels awkward in just walking/ads

It's good I found out about this! Especially with a drifting right stick it helps that I increase my dead zone so my camera doesnt go veering off

Will deadzone affect sensitivity acceleration? (Ima just make up numbers to get my point across even better). You move 2mm out of the deadzone, and your character moves at 50% its max sensitivity. Then you move 2mm more and your character is at max sensitivity. If I change my deadzone to half the one above, will it be 1mm to 50% sensitivity, and 2mm to 100% sensitivity? I know I didn’t explain this very well, but if you (the person reading this right now, not the guy who made the video unless he sees this) think you know the answer, pls respond. If you need any clarifications, just ask and I will respond. Thank you!

Edit: grammar

Thing is, dead zone options should be as common as sound settings nowadays. Having to buy a new controller because the camera doesn't move as fast as it once did is capitolism plain n simple.
