The B29 was truly an engineering marvel for its time.

Stopping the wheels spinning so fast before putting them back in the plane, one of those things you dont really think about unless you know.

That engines' sound is pure symphony.

Listen to those engines. So beautiful. The sheer enormous size of the manufacturing facility was impressive. Learn about the plant where the engines were built. Anazing history.

Those big radials require a gentle touch on the throttles.

My wife's uncle was a B-29 commander in WW2 (at the ripe old age of 26) and these videos reminded me of the stories he shared about the idiosyncrasies of that plane. All the tricks needed to kep the Wright Cyclones cool, keeping it on the runway on takeoff, down to tales of napping in the pressurized tunnel that runs between the cockpit and the crew stations. There is also an access hatch in the cockpit floor where he stowed a bag of food for his dog who frequently accompanied him (the perks of command you know).

I saw FiFi at Dupage airport and Doc at OSH a few days later. Always impressive to see them.

I love seeing the ole timers back in these planes. While our ww2 heros have gone on to greener pastures, these guys were little kids during this time, some of their fathers flew on these.. Its a great way to honor those men

My father flew in B-29's towards the end of WWII and during the Korean War he only told me a few of his stories that I will keep and cherish in memory of him and those that served.

Looks like he's holding extreme right aileron on those controls too. That must be some insane torque those engines are putting out on the ground.

More of this please . Keep going . I sleep with a fan at night . Love the sound of the Pratt and Whitney radial engines . My step dad was the flight engineer on K - 31 . He had a lot of milk runs to talk about.

Average age of a B 29 pilot was 25 yrs they truly were the greatest generation, Thank You to all the men and women who served and a special place in heaven for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, a debt that can never be replayed.

What a great plane the B29 was👍. My dad flew 25 missions as a terit gunner in the B24 liberator during WW2. Few years before he passed away i arranged for him to visit a B24 at Camarillo airport in So. Calif and he was so excited but what i didnt tell him was he was qlso going to go fly in that B24 with me. It was one of the best moments in my life and my dads. Great moment❤️😊
