Exposing the Worst Crowdfunding Projects

Reinventing the wheel has gone too far
This video is an opinion and in no way should be construed as statements of fact. Scams, bad business opportunities, and fake gurus are subjective terms that mean different things to different people. I think someone who promises $100K/month for an upfront fee of $2K is a scam. Others would call it a Napolean Hill pitch.

I love it when Kickstarters that propose groundbreaking ideas own up to "unforeseen difficulties" because that says in reality "look, we just made this shit up and we've now realised that physics don't work like we thought".

The only good thing that was on Kickstarter was the guy who raised millions to make a potato salad and stream it to the backers. Now that was a masterpiece 🤣

I love the idea of:
"Dont you think soft, pliable fabric is way too uncomfortable to wear as a mask? We did too! Thats why we make them out of hard shell plastic!"

Imagine donating to a project that writes "slim desgin" and "truly wearble" in their video that's such scam red flags

Biggest scam: $10 million dollar studio is actually only worth $9million

Imagine people paying you not just to make a clear mask
**But a clear mask with holes**

There are 2 options with crowdfunding:

1. You get scammed or the project doesn't deliver what is promised
2. The project delivers what is promised and is turned into a regular product which you can just buy afterwards with 0 risk.

Most of the time you don't even really save money with the risk you take. They always claim "join the kickstarter and get 20% off the MSRP" but it's save to say that if the product is successful you will see it with a discount of 20% in the future.

I love how one of the Eyedear's selling points was 'truly wearable.' "You should buy our product because it is a product which you can use in the manner in which it was intended to be used."

"Does it say 'WEARABLE?'" No, it says TRULY WEARBLE {5:32) And SLIM DESGIN. (5:30) It was truly the WEARBLE DESGIN that captivated me.

Metal detecting sandals makes the act of metal detecting so impractical. I'd rather have a device that I can wand over the ground and it picks up metal signatures. If I have to use my foot to walk around on top of where the metal is, then I'll just start treating my leg like a detector, and I'll get really fatigued and lose my balance. I'd also have to jog around to cover the same area of sweep as I could with a detector at the end of the wand.

Re: the last mask… I’ve heard it explained that having an asthma attack can feel like trying to breathe through a narrow straw. The more you start to panic at not being able to get enough air, the harder it is to breathe through the narrowed opening. At least this mask had two straws… so that’s nice… Note: this comparison is one I heard trying to better understand my wife’s asthma. I not it’s not reflective of everyone’s experience nor is it meant to be medical info.

You know, there was this indiegogo campaign where a small studio in Chicago raised 90K from their Internet fan base only to create a crappy game show and a less than stellar studio setup. And mediocre movie reviews.
Not as awesome as many people expected it would be.

Gotta love these projects that claim their product, being an eye massager, is ergonomic. As opposed to what? *Non-ergonomic eye massagers?*

The metal detecting sandals are also definitely 3d printed TPU which if thats how they intend to produce them en masse, they'll be able to make maybe 2 per day per printer.

The charge port 4 millimeters from the sand in on those metal detecting flipflops. Good plan
