Printers have microprinted signatures anyways, bad ink jets or not

Here's what's wrong: when she scanned her hand, the hood of the scanner was lifted up because her hand is 3-dimensional. That means the scan should have a black background instead of the white background that comes from the base of the lid.

A black background means they wouldn't be able to get identical pink streaks, so they took a scan or photo of her hand and altered it to replace the white background.

Also, the streaks should only occur on non-white parts of the image. Streaking occurs when an ink-jet with let's say four colors has one-three of the colors jammed. When the printer goes to use all four colors, only one comes out (in this case, magenta). But ink-jet printers only print where there is color in the image, so the white background would be clean.
