Which trail would you most like to see a vlog series from?

Love the "mindset" advice regarding vlogging a thru hike, super 👌

This was very interesting. Hikers who vlog make it look so easy, but it obviously takes much thought and work. Personally I find thru hiking vlogs to be a priceless form of information as I am an older female solo hiker. I am hiking the AT one state at a time. Please know that you definitely help other hikers with your work and we really do appreciate it.

Hey man! How cool! Was searching for this topic and then just remembered that we met somewhere in Maine at one of the hostels near Baxter. Trail name Swagman

Great video. Wonderful tips on how to film a thru-hike. I use a GoPro, so, probably have to do some things differently, my main concern is finding places to upload the videos. Nice channel. New follower here. Crow✌️

I've seen some of your video's where you are using an external microphone. What are your thoughts and recommendations for microphones while vlogging on the AT?

What did you do for storage? I am planning a thru hike of AT in March, and using my iPhone 14 Pro Max and I am concerned with holding videos for 4 weeks or so, filming daily, plus after editing and then saving that to the phone that there won’t be enough storage on my phone. I do have iCloud that I can upgrade to 1TB but that doesn’t solve the phone issue and, when I delete from my phone - it also deletes from the cloud. Looking for solutions to this issue now. Obviously I need to maintain the videos on my phone at least until I can edit them as you can edit offgrid. I can use an external flash drive to remove completed and uploaded videos but then that has its challenges.

Appreciate any insight as to how you worked this out.

What formats do people save, the original pre-edited version and/or the final version. Im trying to conserve space, if possible.

When it comes to people vlogging the AT, one thing I've wondered about for a while is whether or not they had to sacrifice something they wanted to bring, but decided against due to the camera batteries and cameras and triopods etc pushing their weight a bit heavier than they would like. Were there any items that you had hoped to bring with you but chose not to in order to keep your weight down? Thanks Al!

What phone do you use? No doubt, there are many good phones that can be used. I'm probably going to use a Samsung Galaxy S22 or S24 Ultra.
