Excellent performance for the price.

I don't understand why some people mocking about here in the comments. If you expect a high-end graphics card for mid-range money you can wait for a 100 years, wake up you dreamer! The RX480 has the best price/dollar by quite some margin compared to ALL other graphics cards and therefore is an excellent buy.

You guys need to remember that the drivers for this card are also brand new compared to 970 drivers

I don't know why but I really like the camera angles on the screen while he's doing stuff vs. just screen capturing using an HDMI capture source. It makes it more real for some reason.

A moment of silence for those who sold their 980/970/390/390X because they thought the RX 480 will beat it.

I don't understand the people saying this is disappointing. Do you not realise the difference between reference cards(Generally the worse performing forms of the cards) and custom cards? Practically all cards that aren't reference get a lot of tweeks to improve power consumption, overclocking capability and lower heat generated. The 970 SuperSC by EVGA is their top tier OCed GPU(Behind FTW OC versions) while it's being compared to a reference RX 480 and a barely OCed MSI R9 390, which is only overclocked by around 20Mhz, where the 970 SSC is OCed by 140Mhz out of the box. It's comparing a card at the brink of it's safe max performance to a card that isn't being brought to that point in the slightest while the RX 480 and R9 390 are still on par or outperforming the 970 in practically every game(With more VRAM).

The price for the RX 480 should be comparable to a 960 which is around €260 right now for R9 390 and OC'ed 970 performance with the headroom of full 4GB VRAM or 8GB VRAM. When this card gets the custom treatment from MSI, ASUS and the likes you're going to see the RX 480 outperform the R9 390 and the 970. Right now the 970 and R9 390s are €100 more expensive than a 960 or 380/380X which makes the RX 480 the card to get if you're looking for a card in that price range especially if you can wait a month or two for better performance, better cooling and higher grade materials used from MSI or ASUS.

There is literally no reason to buy an R9 390 right now with the RX 480 unless you already have one and want to CF. There's even less of a reason to get any 970 due to the VRAM limitations alone plus the fact the card has to be seriously overclocked to make it comparable to R9 390 performance.

The RX 480 is the best bang for your buck. If you're looking from an upgrade from a mid-tier card the RX 480 is definitely the card to get.

The best thing about the Rx 480 card is that I looked at a bunch of review and discovered your channel : JayzTwoCents. Keep up the good work!!! The Rx480 is a great solution to replace my aging 7770 that is struggling in 1080p even with medium settings. I was expecting that the price of used card would drop but peoples are asking more for a used GTX970 that the cost of a new Rx480.

I own a GTX 1080 and happy with it, however I can see the PC master race rise to power with such an affordable card and thus much cheaper rigs. The GTX 970 has dropped their prices in Denmark to actually currently being cheaper than the RX 480. Fanboys should be ashamed of themselves, the more war the cheaper the cards .... we should have more companies manufacturing and developing GPU´s of high caliber, actually tired of it being a race between AMD and Nvidia only.

RX 480 = GTX 970
GTX 1070 = almost 2 GTX 970 = 2 RX 480

GTX 1070 (Founder's edition ) = $450
2 RX 480 8 gb stock = 460

GTX 1070 (AIB) = $400
2 RX 480 (AIB) = $500.

I am so happy this video came out. I have the Sapphire Nitro R9 380X and this is extremely helpful for me.

Disappointed me. I thought it would come close to the 980. Since the 1070 could beat the titan, I calculated that the 440 should come closer to the 980.

Shame it's a solid 100 euro's more expensive in the Netherlands... actually making the difference between the RX480 and the GTX970 very small. Shame for me because I was aiming for a RX480 or a GTX970 due to pricedrop when the 1070 launched. Neither has happened :x
