You could also set x = sinh(y) and use implicit differentiation. Remember: cosh^2(x) - sinh^2(x) = 1 :)

I'll have to remember this. The integral of 1 / sqrt(x^2 + 1) is totally just arcsinh(x).

Now do the integral of 1/sqrt(x^2 + 1), I wonder what's the function you will get when you integrate that

I just did y = sinh^-1(x) => x = sinh(y), dx/dy = cosh(y), dy/dx = 1/cosh(y) = 1/cosh(sinh^-1(y)) and simplified.

Is inverse hyperbolic and arc sin different?

Ohh!! I wonder the Chinese are still using the outdated chain rule.
