This Wind Tunnel On Your Bike Could Make You FASTER.

BodyRocket is close to releasing a really cool drag sensor for your bike. Given his love for all nerdy aero tech, we sent Simon Von Bromley along to a velodrome in Reading to test it out.

While he was there, he was able to gather some very interesting data, showing how simple changes to key pieces of kit can make a huge difference to a rider’s speed.

What would you do if you had your own Body Rocket system?

To actually have aero numbers as you ride is a great innovation.

So they made him uncomfortable and not aero and then used that number to give the bigger before/after number at the end? Or am I missing something?

I think the interesting thing is that they seem to have put much more effort into the software compared to the other aero sensors on the market, like the Notio. Th software for the sensors I have tried has been pretty rudimentary and buggy.

Describing body rocket as a scale makes a lot more sense to me now. I did not understand that’s what it was doing. I thought it was just some kind of body movement sensor to tell you that you moved.

Will aerosensors become mainstream, like power meters?
To do this, they would also have to be affordable for athletes who do not yet use top of the range material.

Or, you could just ride the same strava route and make slight changes

The weight measurement should surely be in the hubs as it would be simpler surely? The software platform seems to be the real product and theyve been forced to engineer some of the measurement devices as they do not exsist.

Compared to other aero sensors on the market intalling all of those bits in the bike seems like a nightmare

Anyone who is looking at benefitting from this undoubtedly already has a power meter, aero helmet and skin suit for racing.

There's no way on earth you can tell me that this is going to be worth £3000 for anoyone but the highest level pro. And they almost certainly have access to a wind tunnel.

Pointless for the 98.1% of the riders. The remaining 1.9% does not have to pay for that...
