I was so lucky to privately be a guest and visit / stay in the house that this book was written in. I looked out of the windows and understand through that wet cold mist over the moors how this story was made and conceived. I felt the magic in 2012 so I can’t imagine back in her day how “lost” it all was out there way way outside of the village.

Withering Heights was so raw. I read Jane Eyre first and enjoyed it but then studied WH. They were extremely talented sisters!

I remember following Amelia Gething on Musicly from her silly skits and watching her on Youtube to her own comedy skit show, I miss her comedy so much and I'm so excited to see her in this film!

Sadly enough just about every character in this video died young with the exception of Patrick Bronte...the patriarch of the Bronte family. Emily was only thirty years of age; Anne the youngest sister was twenty-nine; Charlotte the oldest sister lived longer than both of them yet she was only thirty-seven or thirty-eight; Branwell their only brother was thirty-one.

I read a review of this by a film critic who also happens to be a Brontë expert and she says that unfortunately, this movie rehashes some old, long debunked myths about the Brontës, such as (for instance) that Charlotte had a rivalry with Emily and the latter was a solitary genius a cut above her sisters. Apparently all of this is totally false. It disappoints me... I was really looking forward to the movie. To whoever is about to say "It's a movie, not a documentary"... d'uh, I know... but a movie can also try not to be slanderous or need to rehash outdated stereotypes in order to dumb down the material and make it more palatable to ignorant people. A movie can be entertaining and yet intelligent...
