Another tip for pollinating tomatoes indoor, the plant self pollinates but it supplies more pollen with vibration similar to the buzzing of bee wings using the handle of an electric toothbrush or razor really releases the pollen and increases yields indoors I did this last year with great success

Thanks for caring for the soil. A lot of people ignore that the soil must be alive, not just packed with fertilizers. B+ for microbial action, A+ if someone adds in some mycorrhiza as well :-)

Good tip Joey.  I've been wanting to setup some stuff indoors myself.  I might get it going this year Lord willing.

For the most part the individual flowers pollinate themselves, even before it may be all the way open. But that being said, they still need some agitation, bees,   wind etc.. or in the case of indoors, shaking the flower cluster, vibration, or a fan. ( Be careful about shaking the whole plant though, I knocked one of my green tomatoes off doing that.) Here is my attempt at growing a Big Beef tomato in the basement;

One tomato that I grew with great success under lights in the past was the patio tomato Red Robin. If you don't have a large area and want to use T5's or T8 fluorescents, I'd recommend this one or one of the other patio tomato types.

you burnt your leaves ...you are getting the plant too close to the light and/or using a light that is too high on the kelvin scale (6500k ) try going down to one 4100k and one 3000k)

Dude, that is the worse looking tomato plant I have seen lately. Looks like you couldn’t have but one salad a month with output from that plant.

Tomatoes are very temperamental plants. If conditions aren't perfect for them they won't give any tomatoes.
Almost impossible to grow indoors.
Go to the grocery store and buy some tomatoes, and save yourself a lot of time and trouble.
