I grew up in southern Ontario. When my brother, who took over that farm, tiled, he found the remains of cedar logs with holes drilled through them for tiles, and they must have been dug in by hand.

Great tile drainage education Chet. 5 th generation ditch digger I sometimes describe myself for our land improvement near Swedesburg in SE Iowa. Great great grandfather bought swamp land in1860's that no one else wanted and we are still working to. Improve it. That's what good caretakers do.

Worked for a corn farmer in Iowa this fall. He was all green. You know pioneer, john deere, and GM. We see his neighbor combining with two Red combines, two Red buggy's, pulled by two Red tractors and five international trucks. I said to my farmer " I'll bet that his test weight is down from yours, with all that Red equipment in that field ".

Belive it or not but I think are red combine is pretty darn easy to blow off becasue it is so open on the sides. It only takes us about 30-45 minutes to blow it off.
