For anyone having issues with the CLEAN UI addon not working try using the other version: 1.2.1 and remember to download the 1.2.1 ini file too. It's installed the exact same way

For the people who couldnt start Gshade on game launch - install Gshade puting tick on DVXK Experimental, not DX9 as video shows.

I always find it more helpful to keep the version numbers on any mods I download so I know which last version I already have installed when I go to redownload and update the mods, so for that reason deleting the "1.2.3_" from the ReShade .ini seems like an unnecessary step that just comes down to personal preference, but doesn't have any real effect.
Just commenting it because I see a lot of people say 'oh just delete this version number from the file name' but they don't mention it's just an optional aesthetic preference for your file names.

Also at the Presets timestamp, around 11:10, I got really confused seeing the Off.ini file originally start off inside the Custom folder and then you quickly move it outside the Custom folder but don't say anything about moving it lol. I reloaded my game a few times after following this tutorial to see if the Off.ini file placement (inside or directly outside that Custom folder) matters and it does not seem to have any effect. So this seems like another optional aesthetic preference for how people want to organize their files.

The GShade menu didn't have any automatic pop-ups for me when I loaded the game with it for the first time, so if anyone else has difficulty figuring out how to get the menu to initially open for the first time, try pressing the [Shift] plus [Backspace] keys on your keyboard and that should open the GShade menu. Then you can change the hotkey to your liking in the menu's settings.

Lastly (sorry for the long message, geez lol), thank you much MissLollypopSims!!! This tutorial is so helpful and easy to follow. I've tried watching a few other tutorials on how to install GShade and ReShades, and they all left me so frustrated or confused I nearly gave up hope of ever trying to install this, but your video helped me. I could cry, my game looks so pretty now, like I literally feel close to tears from happiness, this is gamechanging, thank you thank you thank

OMG Lauren!!! this literally is fate - im sat here making a list of everything im going to need to do when my new PC arrives either tomorrow or Tuesday (switching from iMac to PC) and i thought oooo i need to go and watch Laurens video on how to install and mess around with g-shade and low and behold theres a new video with your beautiful preset! i cant wait to get it installed and have an amazingly beautiful colourful game! im so excited now! i watched the video even before ive got my new pc and youve made something that i was thinking was going to be really difficult and overwhelming to set up seem simple and easy! you are an absolute QUEEN! thank you my love <3

when i load up the game and then click the button (shift+backspace) go get the set up up it just keeps loading??? every other tab but home loads !!!

IF YOUR GSHADE ISNT WORKING: make sure edge smoothing is OFF. If that doesn’t work, try opening the app from files meaning program files/ EA games/ sims 4 / game / bin / TS4x64 ! this should work - it’s the only thing that worked for me after hours of trying
Also make sure u pressed DX9 and none of the other options when installing!

I still can´t get the gshade to open up in the game, doesn´t show up at all but everything is installed as it should and the graphics settings are as they should.. Someone else having these issues?

If you follow the instructions to the T and find your UI Mod is still not working, try the 1.2.1 version! That worked for me ^^

I saw online Gshade is not working right now. Probably because of the DX11 updates. You can revert back to Direct X 9 afaik and some people haven't been switched over because their computers aren't compatible. So some people might have to leave the experimental box checked at 6:05

Thank you so much Lauren for this amazing tutorial! I’ve used reshade for years (which I also followed your tutorial for that as well) and today I finally made the change to gshade! The clean UI thing wasn’t working for me at first but then I tried what you suggested in your pinned comment and now it works great and it’s so nice not having my UI all messed up looking from the shadow effects! I also love your beautiful preset as well! I recently got back into playing Sims 4 so this is really going to enhance my experience! 🥰
