Listen to what the government emergency alarm sent to phones will sound like

This is the sound that mobile phones in the UK will make when the government sends an emergency alert to devices.

The warning is likely to be tested in the early evening of 23 April.

Vibration and a warning sound will appear for ten seconds, even if the device is on silent.

The warning will appear on phone screens until users acknowledge it.

You can turn off emergency alerts on your phone settings at any time.

On iPhone, this is under ‘Settings’, and then ‘Notifications’ – with toggles at the bottom to turn off ‘Extreme Alerts’ and ‘Severe Alerts’.

On Android, the toggle is found emergency alerts are found under ‘Settings’, then ‘Notifications’, then ‘Wireless Emergency Alerts’.

this all looks innocent and purely for the safety of the population, but, It if like some reports suggest the alarm needs to be acknowledged the get your phone functions back it is very open for abuse and dangerous. Also you have no idea what's being installed on your phone if you acknowledging the alarm.
