Long story short fellas: USA started an illegal war sacrificing an entire batallion just to force Mexico into a war. Then they helped the now occupied and stolen land of Texas to get their independency. After they got their independency they wanted to be annexed to USA and so on. So basically, American imperialism doing the usual thing. Mexico was much advanced back then, culturaly and "technologically". Just the fact that slavery was already banned while USA wanted to keep profiting from it says a lot. Just because of that a lot of USA soldiers and slaves left and fled to Mexico to join the mexican army and fought to defend the country. They were known as St. Patrick Batallion.

to me as a Mexican.. it is a miracle and interesting how there is not a single terrorist group in Mexico .. never a terrorist atack against USA like those muslims do..and in general Mexicans dont hate gringos.. actually i confess that, as a barman in a very touristic Acapulco in decade 90´s, Americans were the nicest people I met.. somehow we share cortesy codes as always saying "thank you" "please " etc.. something our hispanic brothers fron the rest of Latin America dont do wich is strange

Ulysses S. Grant and Abraham Lincoln condemned the US in how it took land from Mexico!!

Grant: "I was bitterly opposed to the measure, and to this day regard the war, which resulted, as one of the most unjust ever waged by a stronger against a weaker nation."

Lincoln: called it immoral, proslavery, and a threat to the nation's republican values.

Nicholas Trist, the man who negotiated the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo is not mentioned, and how President Polk refused to pay him for not including Baja California and the Mexican territory east of it. Luckily for Mexico that President Polk didn't know that Mexico would become leading producer of silver and has 4 of 10 biggest silver mines.

It is about time that someone told the truth that we stole the southwest, instead of the lie our schools told us: we were told that we "annexed" the territories. I suppose it was embarrassing to admit that we were the "bad guys".

Finally someone talks about the secrets of american history, I live in Colombia, but study in a Colombian-American school, and something I see a lot is a serious bias towards the US, we need more videos like this, every country has something hiding behind its back, even mine, after all everyone is a saint when talking about other people's sins.

There is a difference in winning a war and stealing land. If you want to say stolen land you can say Mexico stole their land from Spain and France then you can also say the Aztecs stole the land from the Olmecs to stole the land from the Toltecs. Then don't forget how American gave Mexico weapons and money to help fight the war against the that to your vudeo

I love how some people are just completely clueless. Mankind has always fought and taken land from those who originally “owned” it. It’s called losing in a war. Grow up.

People have been "bullied" out of their land since the beginning

The US needs to give the stolen territory back. We need to understand that Native American people (which includes all indigenous people in the Americas) are the true Americans.

First off, putting "stole" in the title is click bate. The reason why is that you're not teaching the full of the Mexican-American war. Secondly, Mexico before colonization, never owned those lands themselves either. They stole it from Spain, who stole it from the Natives. Why didn't Mexico just let the Natives have their own lands back? If we're asking. Third, again, another garbage video completely dismissing wars and how they work. War, in definition is "Countries fighting for their interests." This has been a thing for thousands of years. The US had interests that Mexico lost to. Just say that!!! If that is how you justify Mexico losing, then that means the Germans, Italians, and Japanese, should feel the same way, right? "The Allies stole our land." Lastly, let's get something straight, no war has ever been about what's right or what's wrong if that's what you're trying to say. The Third Reich still has its supporters and so does the Confederate States. Sure, you can side with the loser sometimes, either if you're using sucky excuses like race, ethnicity, etc. but at the end of the day, wars are about who gives in first, or who's left. Mexico had nothing left to defend after losing so much to the US. Then they sign a treaty giving what ever the victor wants. That's how wars and treaties work. But, I see your opinionated about this one, and you probably see it as, "Another white country takes something from other races." Still a bad take. Also, the mapping quality is horrible.

It was stolen illegally by force. And manipulation

I don't see it as necessarily stealing, i find it as a brilliant play in statecraft, the US saw an opportunity, just as how Rome saw opportunity in Carthage, the Mongols in China, ect, I honestly don't see any difference, countries conquer other countries, it has been that way since the beginning of the human race, the US won and Mexico lost, that's all there really was to it, not to mention.
