I own this knife and I think it's great. To me, in comparison to the large, this is almost as tough (slightly thinner everywhere) but way more pocket friendly. Still has a very beefy pivot, washers, liners, overall construction, and tough steel. This knife is designed to handle lots of abuse but not be a huge pocket burden, and I think they nailed it. I love big knives, but when I want something a little smaller, but still capable, this thing just works. Sure, an opinel will slice an apple better, but there are lots of things I'd rather have this for. No 1 knife will be right for every job, just like no 1 screw driver can be used on every screw.
I say it's a win.
Good review Gideon

Gideonstactical, I honestly think that you're definitely in the minority here because most people really really like the Benchmade Mini Adamas. There's one issue that most people had with the Benchmade Mini Adamas that I had and that you failed to mention, that issue is the burnt edge of the blade. My Cru-Wear blade on the Mini Adamas initially had poor edge retention with the factory edge, but after sharpening it twice and then fully reprofiling the edge and laying it's edge angle back a bit the edge retention really significantly improved.

I love how your reviews don’t pull any punches but are honest on both pros & cons. Great job.

I’ve been carrying mine for about a month. It’s a smaller M1 Abrams. I would say back to you dislikes, “don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.” I’ve already hacked down fence wire, tree branches, scraped crap off of stuff that would’ve never come off otherwise. It’s a beast and will have it for 30 years. No buyer remorse here. But respect to you, for liking the big bro better. This is just smaller for me pockets.

I have this knife and I don’t know why you say it is to big or to wide it fits right into my hand and I am 13 and love knives this knife is not to big and not to small I had my dad hold it and he said it fits perfectly and same with me I love this knife it is good for EDC, great knife.

Everyone talks about the price of Benchmades, but no one ever talks about Benchmades life-sharp service. You send your knife to them, and they will disassemble it, clean it, replace worn parts, reassemble, it, sharpen it, and return it, ALL AT NO COST TO YOU. This service is factored into the price, and is included with every model they sell. This service helps justify the Benchmade "butterfly tax" a little bit, at least in my opinion.

I agree with your assessment of this knife. For me it was somewhat of an impulse buy and the Cruwear was a major selling point. I have to say though, I love it. For me, the full size is just too darn big. This will probably appeal to knife guys, like myself, who try to fit every possible niche in their collection. Plus it looks cool. It's a Bugout on steroids.I think it will be a big seller for Benchmade. You made a very fair assessment of the knife though.

The mini adamas is my goto EDC and I love it, especially compared to the bug out with s90v blade and carbon scales. I have smaller hands than you so for me it works. I feel like Im carrying my knife. My biggest complaint I could say about it is that the mini does not close as effective as the fullsize adamas folder of this knife. I sometimes have to give it 2 to 3 chances to close up for me. Ive just learned to live with that. Its become a staple when I leave my house. Its also been paired often with a BM bushcrafter that stays in my hiking/camping/"bugout" bag.

I just love how "overkill" it looks as well.

I love knives just as much as you and the otherviewers here. Keep giving us content!

I personally love the Mini Adamas, it’s a more EDC friendly version of the already great Adamas..it’s one of my personal favorite Benchmade knives..I don’t mind the handle thickness at all though I think they should’ve made the blade stock a bit thinner.my hands aren’t as big as his hands, it fits my hands perfectly..though I could definitely understand why the Mini Adamas wouldn’t be ideal for someone with big hands.I wear large size Mechanix gloves and it fits me nicely

I usually agree but I find it perfect and extremely strong what it's intended to be

I want to see you review the full size

I have changed the blade angle on my Mini Adamas on a worksharp Ken onion. Now it's a better slicer than before. For EDC that is an important point.

This is an interesting take. If I need a bigger knife I carried a fixed blade. I love the Mini Adamas but I have smaller hands. The build feels durable.

Good to see your still giving an honest and blunt opinion, Even though your channel has exploded with growth. Thanks for your contributions to the knife community!

I have watched this video and the one about the full-size that you got as a gift. After watching that video I got to get my hands on the mini and fell in love with it right away. I’m a short guy with small hands, so for me this mini Adamas functions probably a lot like the full-size Adamas does for you with large hands. I love an overbuilt yet smaller knife and one that is still extremely easy to carry and I find this to fit the bill perfectly. For me the mini Adamas is my full size overbuilt carry.

Just watched this video. (2025). I like over-built, heavy knives. My all-time favorite is the BM 950 Rift. I hope there will be a resurgence in quality builds with some heft. Light is ok and has its place, but some of us wear boots and jeans every day and want to purchase knives that legitimately belong in the men’s department.

I really enjoy your factual, logistical & fluent reviews of your content, especially regarding fixed blade knives. At 71, I've collected blades for many decades & have used & carried many different brands & models. My new favorite edc is the Benchmade ( entry level in the Hunt series ), Steep Country in CPM-S30V with a 3.54" × .12" stone washed blade & Santoprene handle. I also have carried it's bigger, more expensive Saddle Mountain Skinner brother in 4.2" × .12" CPM-S90V steel blade with Richlite handle, but I decided to dedicate this blade to hunting. Both of these knives are full flat grind with Benchmades' new "Selectedge" 14° grind per side. The handle thickness is rather thin & I wonder what you would think of these blades for general bushcrafting use along with a larger blade. If you haven't, would you try these blades out & review them in your unique style?

What!? 1st negative is that it's too beefy... But it's an Adamas, you know that it's going to be robust getting into it so that point is moot. 2nd is that it's too small... But it's a mini Adams, so yet again you know what you're getting into, and the point was to bring it down to an AVERAGE size for people who think the original is too big to EDC. It's not even close to as small as the normal mini's. It's barely shorter then a Griptilian. So another point that's moot. And point 3, price is subjective. For high end and custom collectors $212 is nothing and for Walmart knife guys, more then $20 is too much so does it really matter? No, not for those who would have bought the knife anyways. For a Adamas it's in the right price range all things considered. Of course we'd all like to see a cheaper price, but realistically it's not all that bad.
My overall take on this review is that if you have large hands and are expecting a full size knife from a knife considered a mini, then you may be disappointed.
