Is The Allay Useful for the Create Mod? That is the only question I have had on my mind since the allay (sadly) won last years mob vote - and today I finally get to test it since the create mod was updated to 1.19!

you could use it for a mob farm collection system. it will be able to pickup items off the ground with out the need of to many hoppers

in blind pursuit of the most useful mob, we got.. well, i guess that depends on the player.

I have used the allay to sort unstackable items which was impossible to do in Minecraft before. However the copper golem pushes random buttons which we could refer as signals at random times, with a time limit, we already have ways to randomize signals in Minecraft and a way to limit signals in however the copper golem would make it easier. Which is why I believe the golem has value. The last mob in the vote would be useful in bedrock but with the light needing to be 0 now for mobs to spawn makes it less useful. I still use the allay in farms and sorting systems, and if you find a pillager post before you make a iron farm they are way cheaper then a bunch of hoppers in mine carts for a sugar cane farm with no loss. You only thought about the sorting capabilities. Though with the create mod you can spurt unstackables and farms automatically collect items. So the allay has little use with the mod.

The fact that the Allay drops its items in such an inaccurate spot makes it near-useless for item sorting.

Yeah, Moving blocks around just randomly is just begging for people to make massive Lag Machines, even on 2b2t! And I'm not playing Hide and seek in a Cave when I could get killed by a Cave Spider or something! I'll take a Dinosaur that finds Plants Over anything else, even the Allay!

if u attach a lead to it then put it on a fence and move the fence mabey u can have a thing auto pick up plants in a farm

Heres an idea: afk mob farm! getting the iron for hoppers and stuff to cover the ground where the mobs die can be a hassle, especially if you have a large and already expensive factory that is dependent on the drops. Heres a practical use: Say you have an elytra and want to make a factory for the fireworks. You set up the sugarcane farm and automate the paper process but you still need gunpowder. One mobfarm might be enough but you want EFFICIENCY. Setting up the collectors and sorters for all the mobfarms needed would be really costly so you just use allays to pick up everything and toss it in one collector to be sorted out. This method might be especially helpful if you use dripstone to kill the mobs.

Man, I just found some allays in my (peaceful) survival create world, and immedietly locked them up and then the next day I found out my client got corrupted so I had to redo all of my settings on a new install and copy the world file over and reinstall forge. Not really a problem, just annoying. (Also it happened again and so I just kinda gave up on create for a while)

The thumbnail has been changed at least 3 times, and every time it changes the train gets closer to the allay!

it's amazing for picking up amethyst because the layout is agony for hopper minecarts or something like that. They can also be used in tunnel bores and tnt mining because player allays are immune to player damage like tnt, although that only really affects vanilla because create tunnel bores can pick up their own items. Still, that allows auto mining in vanilla

The allay is mainly useful as a vacuum hopper, if you ask me.
