We had a Total Solar Eclipse in 2017 in Upstate South Carolina my home town was in the path of totality, Just had to walk out the front door to enjoy but it only lasted for 2 or 3 minutes. It was amazing and very touching to my soul.

I little off subject. I watched challenger explode in 2nd grade at school in a field. I live in Clearwater(west of tampa) on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. On a clear day, we could see all the shuttle launches from the cape this far away. I remember my teacher suddenly crying out of nowhere before we understood what happened. Sometimes on reentry we could hear 3-4 sonic booms on other flights
