Totally agree Art Mels went downhill, last time I visited in 2019 was such poor food hygiene when handling that I never went back. My goto was Generosa;s.

Come on Omar! I'm a Bermudian living in London and I haven't had a proper fish sandwich in far too long! Cafe Olé looks WELL but I need more in-depth analysis, they can't be the ONLY people making good fish sandwiches in Bermuda. I was sad to hear about Art Mel's passing and it's unfortunate that quality has suffered since then. The closure of Fish Hut was troubling as well. Sid's Seafood used to make a good fish sandwich too. Whatever happened to them? Are they still around?
In other words, can you do an exposé on the history and slow demise of the Bermuda Fish Sandwich? When Fish Hut closed I was very upset to hear that they wouldn't be reopening. For me, it was the loss of a Bermuda Institution. Why did it close and not reopen? More importantly, who has the recipe? Did Plankton steal the recipe? I digress

I haven't been in Bermuda since 2017. But when I was there, Art Mel's had the best fish sandwich there. (at least in a lot of people's opinion) I had it, and thought it was great! I'm sorry to hear that the quality of it has diminished.

OMG, why am I on here trying to find the recipe? The best fish sandwich we have ever tasted. Lord, please somebody bless us all with the recipe. We had it on June 20, 2022 after we came out of the Crystal caves.

it's so good!! I don't eat alot, it's a really hard thing for me to do actually.. but when I first ever tried their fish sandwish I was able to eat the whole thing in one sitting. Since its kinda far where I live and I'm too young to drive I'm not able to have it alot, but when I do its totally worth it! (Raisin bread is the best)

15$ each sandwich it shows how expensive Bermuda is and there was no bones inside of the fish. Also the rock fish is used to make a bouillabaisse.
