I live in the UK and I’m hugely impressed at the way the people of the USA welcome home their loved ones from service abroad. It’s a fantastic thing to see and god bless them for their service. A special mention has to be made to all those brave service men and women who never make it back home.

Bawling veteran over here. Back in 1991 my homecoming after Desert Storm was really incredible. About 80 family members and friends showed up to the airport to greet me. It was SO hard to remain stoic. On the way home all I could think of is what a lucky man I was to be alive, and how fortunate I really was for being loved. To all of my fallen Brothers and Sisters of the U.S. armed forces and their families. Thank you for your sacrifice.

These always destroy me. My dad was Army, my brother a Navy SEAL in Vietnam, and I got to surprise my Mom when I separated from the Navy six years after my brother separated. Then, my brother was offerred a commission in the Army and did a few years in Iraq. It sure was nice to get him back in one piece. Well, we're done with our own travels now but the memories are still so strong, so these clips bring it all back!! Thank you all for your service, everyone! It is a huge committment to sign up.

When I returned from a Kosovo deployment in 2002 I had no one there to greet me, and it crushed me, so please welcome your soldiers home. No matter how "tough" they are or what they say, trust me... it means a LOT more than they're showing.

To my dad’s buddies who never made it back in 2011, he never forgot you, he wears a metal bracelet with your names and dates of passing everyday. ‘Never forget, and never again’ he says. He has grown into a better soldier because of you, and for you. From a lowly E3 to now a 2LT, you inspired him. He made a promise to never loose someone like you three again. Thank you for your sacrifice and giving my dad the will to keep going and grow. I salute you.

Can anyone watch this without bawling your eyes out!?

What really kills me is seeing how much little boys miss their fathers. If you ever wondered if good fathers are important in children’s lives, just watch these.

Dad would come home from Vietnam a number of times, these vids bring back all those emotions, now that I am older I think of all the dads that didn’t return from all the wars. May we always remember them and their families!

Thank you for this, pal! Even after all these years, I feel the weight of the sacrifices I made for my country, and seeing this...this reminds me of why I made them. And, if you will all permit me to say: ⚓GO NAVY⚓

As a parent there’s nothing better than seeing your kids. The happiness and joy the kids all have when seeing their mom or dad after returning from deployment/service is wonderful.
