100 years ago, the first woman was elected to Congress – 4 years before women got the right to vote. We've come a long way since then, says Jay Newton-Small, but the key milestone will be when women hit critical mass in the G7 -- the group of the 7 most powerful countries in the world. And it's likely to happen in our lifetimes.

Jay Newton-Small is Washington correspondent for TIME and the author of Broad Influence, a book about women in politics. She writes about everything from Washington politics to foreign policy and national trends. She has covered stories on five continents for TIME from conflicts in the Middle East to the earthquake in Haiti to the Scottish independence movement and the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.

She lost me at Hillary Clinton. Hill's corruption being revealed today destroys everything these young women stand for. Find me someone as a good example who is honest, doesn't flip flop on the issues, does not take money from lobbyists then I will listen. Gosh, I am sure there are millions of good women this speaker could have mentioned. Everyone talks about her as if she is the only woman out there that can do this, and she is not. Fresh faces are needed on the battle front.

I would think if I ruled the world I would come up with a system where there is a bail bondsman so if anyone threatens or they would be an international Peace convention created to be able to put someone in jail for trying to start a war so someone at the top wouldn't be able to do such a thing so no more corruption at the top. The bails bondsman go after whoever tries to start a war and would create other bondsman. Would bring them to an international jail and they would have to stand trial for the accusations that they have it's going to be in a court of law that they would be brought to there would be no war.
