My mother had a similar experience back in the 80's due to the song, "She wants a pearl necklace", which she openly told my dad and two of his friends at the time that she loved that song and always "Wanted a pearl necklace". Needless to say, his two friends lost their shit laughing, and my dad, being a stand up guy that he was, took her aside and explained to her what that meant. My mother was mortified and started crying, as she'd been singing that around her other firends for weeks and now worried they all thought my mother was lewd like that. My dad held her until she calmed down and his two friends, a couple, came in and hugged her as well.
