Currently, Hu Tao is trying to make amends after realizing that qiqi wants to live. Originally, Tao wanted to bury qiqi because her philosophy is that the cycle of life and death must stay the same or else there will be consequences in the future (well, not exactly but that is how I am interpreting it), but eventually, she realizes Qiqi doesn’t want to die, so she now tries to pampaer her but it kind of fails because qiqi has now trained herself to stay away from Hu Tao.

"Fun" fact: actually, hu tao and qiqi are friends, after hu tao give up trying to bury qiqi, thee both start to play together. But, the problem is that, when qiqi go back home, she forgot to write that in her book so, due her bad memory she forgot about hu tao and fear her again.(sorry if something is bad written, my English isn't too good)

I know people think hu tao means well. She does, but sometimes ppl dont think too much about someone's well intentions if the actions dont benefit them. To qiqi, hu tao is tryna kill her twice.

Imo what hu tao did was wrong too bc she forced her idea of saving qiqi while qiqi herself still wants to live even with her restrictions and the pain she has to endure bc she's experienced dying firsthand. Also qiqi knows that baizhu has ulterior motives for taking her in but she chooses to stay with him over someone who wants to "save" her.
