Following years of debilitating pain, Sierra Prindle thought she would never feel better, until she came to University Hospitals.

At UH, a doctor diagnosed her with popliteal artery entrapment syndrome, or PAES. The condition was blocking several arteries near her knee, and she almost lost her leg.

I was diagnosed with popliteal artery entrapment syndrome and chronic exertion compartmental syndrome while serving in the military. About five minutes into my runs I would lose feeling in my legs, and could barely move them. After six years I had surgery for chronic exertion compartmental syndrome and at seventeen year's they finally found the popliteal issue.
Needless to say the damage was already done to my nerves. Glad she found it and was able to get the surgery.
