DEI pretty much does the opposite of what they think it will.
By choosing someone that is barely qualified yet checks a certain demographic box you are setting that person up for failure, and as a result, make that entire demographic look bad.

There are so many problems in the world that are easily avoided by the application of critical thought, but it seems nobody has time to think about consequences when there are hurt feelings to avoid.

Getting your feelings hurt or your ego bruised is often a necessary part of personal growth and development.
We have generations of emotional toddlers because people were too cowardly to let someone else feel passing discomfort.
