I think this jazz tutorial on jazz piano tritone substitutions is very different from most piano lessons you will find on YouTube. In fact, you'll be hard-pressed to find another like it. This is the way I would have liked to learn it from a jazz pro. Hopefully, the transfer of knowledge in this way also agrees with you.

I thought it would be helpful if I put some of these lessons back-to-back so you can hear the ideas evolve. I think it's easier to learn it that way. Also, it's nice you could just hit the rewind button and examine it more closely if you wish. Don't forget to download the sheet music. It's free.

My wife Nancy and I are grateful to all of you who jumped on board early, and have been learning with us. BTW, JazzMentl will be celebrating 1 year anniversary this month. We are up to 1600+ subscribers, which is very good considering our target audience is intermediate to pro jazz musicians - let's face it, there are not millions of us out there! Interesting approach. I’ve played this many times and never thought of some these ideas. Not quite there with the couple of really dissonant ones but I’ll keep listening. Lots of scope for inner voice movement here though.

At 4.08 you say since G is in the melody we will make it at #11 chord? Can you explain more?
