this really seems to come down to whether or not you're powering through the game.

I went in expecting this to be a decent mobile time waster and nothing more or less with no crappy microtransaction. This was exactly what I got. I live in NYC and commute via subway train so I always have 40 minutes or so to spare with this game to and from wherever I'm going, but I guess if you're just playing this at home like a 'real' game it's definitely going to out stay it's welcome within a day or so.

Personally I'd highly recommend at least a try, if anything for the fact that the game doesn't bombard you with shitty advertising in an attempt to trick you into wasting hundreds of dollars on it.

Are there Tunnel Snakes? I'll only play if there are Tunnel Snakes. Because Tunnel Snakes Rule.

I think you should revisit this game. Bethesda recently updated this game in great depth. You can now build your own suits and weapons. The best update is that now you can participate in exploring the wasteland in many ways. It is now a very fun game.

It's great to have a Fallout mobile game but i dislike this style of gameplay. Reminds of of games like Clash of clans where all you do is check the game every few hours and press the screen 5 or 6 times. Kind of pointless.
Bring on Fallout 4 already!

I've stopped at about 40 dwellers because it's so shallow and got super boring. I think they really missed some grand opportunities. Firstly it would be nice if there was a full fallout inventory. I've not seen any miniguns, power armour, full auto shotguns, etc. but I think the biggest thing they missed would of been a fully fleshed out wasteland exploring. If only they incorporated a fallout 1/2 map as an exploring the wasteland mechanic. Allow a squad of say up to three. Show an unexplored map and send them off. Have locations to explore with some short stories at these locations. It would be so much more fun to have fleshed out literally the only interesting part of this game.

Played this for about three days before it corrupted my save data. Really glad I didn't spend any money on it.

I think this game has improved a lot since it first came out. The one thing I'll keep saying though, is that it needs a time passer. The first 6 hours or so are such a long grind.

Wait a second: having caps as a currency doesn't make any sense, for those are used as a currency only by wasteland dwellers, not inside vaults. I may be mistaken, but as far as I recall you usually don't find caps in vaults at all in Fallout 3/New Vegas.

Was playing this for weeks with no issues... out of nowhere, food resources ran so low to the point it was impossible for me to build it back up. ONE attack from rad roaches killed 3 of my best food prep-dudes and well... THAT WAS IT!

They recently updated the game. Now you can also scavenge for pieces of junk as well as blueprints in the wasteland as well as given you three new rooms to play with. You can craft weapons and outfits/armor using the junk and blueprints you have gathered (as in Fallout 4) or give your dwellers new haircuts in these new rooms. You can also upgrade said rooms to allow you to craft rare weapons and outfits/armor.

Thought the exact same thing when I hit 50 dwellers, it just became the same thing over and over. would have loved something a bit more to the whole thing, like perhaps having some sort of control over the dwellers you send out scavenging. just imagine if it was a short mission akin to the original fallout rpg's, quick little top down map to do a few things .... would be nice

I've spent way more time in this game than I care to admit. I've even come up with some Vault Tec style expirements on my dwellers in some of my vaults

I love me some Fallout, but this game did nothing for me. Maybe I've played too many games of this type, but there seemed to be precious little to do in the game that was actually, you know, fun.

Hey lgr, I've watched your videos for a few years now and a big fan of your approach to the review process. In regards to this game I think you were a bit more kind than i was. I understand the premise I just get bored after I hit 100 dwellers and have it all unlocked and implemented into my Vault. You have definitely more lunchboxes than me too as the daily goals haven't allowed me to gain but 4 or 5 boxes in the couple of months I've been diving into it. Good job on the review and compared to other mobile games it's not as bad on what to expect. I just felt like there wasn't anything left to do after a certain point.

this sounds about right for this game, it's the first tablet/phone game i've ever had much interest in trying out, ill definitely get it when i get a tablet, nice to know it doesn't treat the player like a gold mine and rip them off, thanks for this honest and fair review

They did make it as a promotion for the Fallout 4 game coming out... I remember reading an interview that they thought this was going to be a quick throw away thing anyways... and didn't expect it to be as big as it is now.

Finding this in my subscription box absolutely made my Monday. Which is hard to do! I applaud you, sir.

The idea sounds great. A post apocalyptic Sim Tower - but you only build downwards. Mixed with some Dwarf Fortress that could be a very interesting game.
