German Chancellor Angela Merkel has promised fast financial aid as she visited towns worst affected by last week's flooding.

Across western Europe, more than 180 people have died, and a huge clean-up operation has commenced even as rescue teams continue to search for survivors.

“I’ve come here today to symbolise that we are standing together in solidarity, we will fix it all one step at a time, we have to act fast,” Chancellor Merkel said while visiting Adenau.

“I am promising you the government will issue a program next week so we can work towards a rapid recovery.”

Merkel suffers diminishing esteem it seems. Maybe the German people will finally get rid of this witch. Condolences to those who suffered losses.

She should visit the towns devastated by her immigration policies. You Aussies know how to conduct immigration policy...

That should be the icing on the cake to those grieving. Merkel, with her disastrous policies, visiting a natural, rather than a woman-made disaster.

The Germans will take care of their people; in USA they would be left out on the street...

There's something evil in that one.

the subtitles regarding the woman 2:50 are disturbingly wrong.

Here is what she says:

"i just met this woman but she endorses a such sympathic attitude and I thank god every day that I got away lucky with it... I'm sorry"

The German people do not only want to know what to do now they also want to know why the infrastructure collapsed so quickly in a country like Germany. Climate change(which is mentioned all the time) plays a role, sure. But it's not the only reason.
