I came here based on your response to my comment/question on another video. Thanks again for 1) responding, 2) giving me good direction on what to do, and 3) posting these great, informative videos!

Thank yoou. I couldn't figure out what this was for the longest. The bolt that goes through the smaller side has been missing since I bought the car and I did notice that when I plugged it with a bolt, the car did shift a bit smoother than when it had nothing in it. Now I know exactly what to order. Thanks again Robert.

Just put the car on ramps and go at it. Really, as high as these cars sit, you may not even need ramps.

The mount stops the motor and trans from torquing for and aft while driving. The mount really doesn't carry any weight.

would this cause a knocking noise when you start the engine, its only initially when you turn the engine over, once it starts it goes ive also noticed that when i accelerate and slow down on the throttle there is a slight cluncking noise, coming from the engine area, thanks for these vids helps enormously

Robert, I have a AW 50-42 LE on my 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo.  After having looked at your videos you may know something I couldnt find information on.  Does it or does it not contain lock up (TCC) solenoid, shift solenoids, torque converter?  And valve body in the AW 50-42 LE?  Thanks!

Love your videos! I have a 2001 v70 xc geartronic and after it warms up, when shifting from R to D I get an audible and physical clunk into gear. It also sometimes happens when the car shifts between 1 and 2 but is much less noticeable and more rare. I looked at the mount and it appears to be fine. Is there anything else this could be or should I try replacing the mount? I also played with the driveshaft and there was maybe 1/4" of rotational play while the vehicle was off and in park.

Robert,
My V70XC has experienced serious motor vibration/shaking. Thus far I have replaced the upper motor mount and the right side (Passenger), both helped, but the motor still seriously shakes when driving in 4th or 5th gear and the RPM is between 1400 and 1700. Basically it seems to only happen when I am just kinda putting around at say 30MPH in high gear, If I accelerate it stops immediately. Any Ideas - my next step is to replace this mount but I don't want to waste money, so I thought I would ask?

Do you have to lift the car to replace this mount?

I just got a polyurethane mount from FCP for $40! The car feels SO much better. It's much more responsive, no more clunky shifts. One of the best little upgrades you can do to your Volvo 850. Here's a link to it.

10 minutes my ass. I'm doing mine right now and one of the back bolts won't come out. Used penetrating spray too and it won't budge.
