But don't builders prefer to build on green fields because it's cheaper, while the population as a whole prefers new buildings to be on brown field sites which is where housing is more likely to be needed? And are rural communities not blighted by housing being turned into holiday lets? And is the answer to that to build more housing, or sort out to what use landlords put existing housing?

How much will all the building you plan add to our carbon emissions and make it harder to meet Net Zero? How much habitat will be lost; how many more reservoirs will have to be built, miles of road, light pollution, pressure on land fill, food imported etc. etc. etc? I am sure that the property developers will be pleased with the money they will make. We need to build a new city each year to accommodate all the illegal migrants coming to the UK, shame that it will concrete over the green belt and productive farmland. Not to worry, we can import all the food we need from the EU, and when we con no long pay for it, I am sure they will send it as food aid, like they do to all other third world countries.
