Too true. I was an ER nurse before “retiring” to PACU. A friend of mine who was ICU said the difference between ER and ICU nurses is this: ER nurses love external chaos, while ICU nurses love internal chaos. I almost fell down laughing.

I worked step down and the ER charge nurse was always wanting me to transfer. There was no way! I liked her but ER is like joining the Army. I don’t have that type of personality and I admire those that do! They are the ones who see and deal with the worst. I’m the one who is like “sew up that patient and bandage them and I will take care of them!”Love to the ER! They deserve respect!❤

Haha, I’m my mid twenties I was in a top notch, but old hospital in a very congested part of the city, even in the icu, you have a roommate there. They kept giving me roomies who were in comas, bc I had so visitors and was so chatty 😆
