Healthcare Workers Face Anger From Vaccine Hesitant Patients

With reports of doctors and nurses facing hostile patients, emergency physician Dr. Rob Davidson tells Jonathan Capehart that he’s frustrated with people who have chosen not to get vaccinated, but, he adds, “I’m really, really mad at the folks out there perpetrating the disinformation … basically spending every day undermining our efforts to do what’s right.”

I wonder if we will hit a breaking point where doctors refuse to see patients who won't listen to them. I mean why waste time trying to save someone that doesn't want to be saved. Plenty of other people to help.

Why go to the hospital and then get mad at the doctors and nurses? If you don't trust them don't go and threaten the when you don't like what they say. You can't force them to give you irrelevant treatments.

I was forced to go to the ER for an injury 8 weeks ago. It took almost 7 hours to see a doctor. The doctor that treated me said many of the same things this doctor is saying. 95% of hospital capacity at the time was taken up by often belligerent unvaccinated people.

The fact that it's not the other way around is the problem. We need a massive PSA campaign to explain the simple facts about masks and vaccines, like we did every time there's been a public health emergency in America. God bless them for their patience.

Health and life insurer simply need to stop covering who isn't vaccinated ..or the US can start taxing...

The anger cuts both ways - I know a nurse working in a covid ward - she says the staff HATES knocking themselves out trying to save patients who've refused vaccinations. She says if the staff had their way - the non-vaccinated patients would just get rolled out to the parking lot in their beds...

I cannot believe what i just heard. Someone comes with a gun to his doctor because he doesnt like the waiting time and the host just let it go without a comment. Where is the US now? It is normal to harrass your doctor with a gun to jump the line?

So all the ppl who smoke and drink and are fat should be turned away and denied healthcare bc they chose to not follow guidelines that are constantly changing.. If you want to deny healthcare on biases then go all the way

I know it sounds harsh, but people who are not vaccinated should be on the bottom of the wait list.
I'm a smoker, and I fully believe that if I had lung cancer someone with the same problem who has never smoked should be given preferential treatment.

As a retired Healthcare worker for 37 years, I wish that Healthcare workers had the power to refuse to treat hostile patients who try and do harm us for trying to help them. I changed my career because I could not tolerate the abuse I received from patients I was trying to help.
