This is our 2nd year with a raised bed garden. Our first yr. we started with one 4x4 bed. Planted 2 indeterminate tomato plants, 2 pepper plants, cucumbers, onions, and a squash plant. Needless to say, our small bed was a little too full! The 2 tomatoes (one early & one regular) grew to over 10 feet tall and we harvested over 300 tomatoes from the 2 plants! Our family and neighbors were convinced those were magic tomato vines! The other veggies did fair and provides enough for the two of us, but by late June the cucumber plants took over the remainder of the plants and even spilled out on to the yard. Although both of us grew up with large family gardens, raised bed gardening is totally different. We learned a lot from the mistakes made that first year. We had to skip our garden last yr due to health issues, but this year we built an additional 4x8 bed so we have lots more room. I am so thankful to have found your page just as our tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers are starting to bloom. We planned ahead on training our cukes to trellis up chicken wire this year! I can’t wait to go out tomorrow and start pruning everything and helping with pollination based on what I’ve learned from your videos. Excited to keep learning and see how well our garden does this year. Keep up the great videos!!

Wow! Just came across your videos and am really enjoying them. They are easy to listen to and you get right to it, not dragging it out for a long time. Very informative. I didn’t know “determinate” and “indeterminate”, good to know. I will be watching more of your videos.

I LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. Fantastic Knowledge base. Learning lots from your vids. Especially love how you show close ups on all the details because some of us may not understand without being closely shown like the pollenating tomato plants and the pruning of squash/zucchini plants. Thank you so much. Bless you.

So glad I found your videos. What a great wealth of information. I’ve been growing tomatoes for a long time (I’m 70) and NEVER ever pruned them! I’m starting on a pruning routine from now on. Can’t wait to see the difference. Thanks!

Yep. I go out twice a day with an electronic toothbrush and buzz the base of the truss’ stem. Works so much better than wind. Being a patio gardener, I rarely get bees - and I love tomatoes too much to live without.
