I remember the gas explosion scene not playing and being genuinely upset about it because I thought it was the funniest shit ever.

As a child I saw the red mist Squidward in the episode. It scared me so bad that I avoided SpongeBob like the plague when I watched the episode again though it was the altered version so I was convinced that it was a nightmare. But now watching this video and knowing it’s actually real. I find it a lot cooler than scary but seriously watching that scene dug up some repressed memories

The Squidward heart surgery scene with the heart spilling blood was never deleted in my country, but I also felt no fear watching it as a kid.

Fun fact: During an interview with the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants, Tom Kenny confirmed that they were instructed to use *substitute* swear words, which would eventually be replaced with the dolphin noise. However, they thought it was annoying, so they all decided to just use *actual* swear words. Apparently, there exists audio of the original uncut swearing at Nickelodeon Studios, but that hasn't been confirmed.

I remember when this episode first aired. And once i saw the red mist reference, i immediately recorded it. It is saved on my dvr and i occasionally watch it just for that reference. It's truly amazing of the writers giving that nod of acknowledgement that they seen how popular red mist was.

You know they could’ve deleted the scene in House fancy where Squidward gets his toenail ripped off by the couch. That scene itself was messed up

In 2006, Stephen hillenburg admitted in an interview with Daniel Demshock that Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke were actually slightly drunk when they did the "Crazy for Ice cream" scene in the first spongebob movie

I remember the gas and match gag, but weirdly it was YEARS after it aired (I wasn't even born until almost 3 years after it aired). Also Sandy was originally meant to be a love interest for Spongebob, but the writers decided to just keep them as great friends

Also the Red Mist reference is legendary

17:20 I ACTUALLY HAD THIS EPISODE ON DVD DISC AND I REMEMBER THIS SCENE VIVIDLY! I was really young at the time, so I don't have it anymore, but I do distinctly remember the poking and the spewing and everything

Funny enough, when red mist Squidward was shown, i remember social media went crazy for the episode, praising them for actually acknowledging the creepypasta in such a way and actually being willing to show something like that.

Red Mist freaked me out as a kid. The red eyes, it was very well made.
This and dumped spongebob were the most terrifying creepypastas I had heard.

You know how there's basically a dolphin God in Canon? Imagine if the dolphin noises were present because they were basically swearing and thus taking the name of their dolphin God in vain?
