Friends, today we're taking another look at Poppy Playtime Chapter 3. With the recent release of a new trailer the theorist community has been set ablaze wondering who this new monster is! About cats wanting to cuddle babies: Most domestic cats actually really like children. Modern house cats are descended from an African wildcat that live in colonies and raise kittens communally. So they view babies as human kittens and since cats understand that when a child is asleep it's vulnerable, it tends to snuggle up with them to keep them safe and warm. Not sure if this leads to cats accidentally suffocating babies by just not knowing they're causing problems though.

5:58 If you're talking about the poppy plant, Papaver Somniferum is also the scientific name for the opium poppy.

There are some other things to note here:
All mascots in this trailer have their head removed or burned/blacked out, even the images of them on the walls attached to the children's pictures. Looking at the angel statue it looks a lot like it is made of heads with the occasional pair of arms here and there. I really think that is important, personally.

The cats name is now confirmed! His name is Catnap, and he was originally a member of the “Smiling Critters” toy line, a line to help children sleep.
Catnap was recalled for giving children Nightmares.
Marie’s carer even threatened to remove her from the program because the Red Gas that was given my Catnap gave her Nightmares.

I've never seen such a Creepy reinterpretation of the Cheshire Cat before, usually they lean too much into "obvious/tacky" territory but Gassy Catty actually skeeves me out

MatPat should make his own lore where all 4 channels (film, style, food and game) interact with each other and have a problem that is kind of like the shorts war or if they go against youtube or something like that and the fans have to try to find evidence, links and unlisted videos to try to solve his lore.

I wonder what happened to that Councilor, Claire, who wrote the incident report? She seemed fiercely protective over Marie and others in her care. She also didn't seem to know of the sinister side of the experiments, considering that she thought the nightmare Marie had was because of some of the orphan boys picking on her.
She even made a kind of threat in the report about needing to protect "her little girl"
