Been looking to upgrade to digital gauges, and just pulled the trigger and bought em before seeing this video. Looking forward to seeing how they do this AC season.

Good to see you back again. And food for thought...Ol' Rick (Mr. Survival) was surprised at just how much we don't mind hanging out watching what he considers repetitive Ho-Hum repairs once in a while. Probably wouldn't post them with the same frequency, but we'd all like to ride along with you now and then, even on the dirty flame sensors, cracked ignitors, and plugged pressure switches of everyday life that make the heating season go 'round. Those are nice, and at a great price. My first digital manifold was the fieldpiece SMAN3's that I purchased in 2010. I recently purchased Testo 550's. Might have to get the Elitech as a backup. Thanks for the review.

Looks tempting but I think having the thermocouple connections on the top is a deal breaker for me, as rain would get right into them. I own two Elitech leak detectors and I'm thrilled with them, but for gauges I think I'll stick with Fieldpiece and Testo

Great video, thanks for sharing. Those gauges seem VERY similar to the older Testo gauges, even down to the printing on the box. I wonder if Testo sold them, or is marketing the older technology under that name now.

You know, that's all well and good when you're checking out a brand new digital refrigerant gauges but how about using them for a whole season and then do a review. Of course everything's gonna look nice and work well when it's new. I bought a $600 field piece manifold set and within a year the site glass started leaking refrigerant badly. So what do you think a $189 digital manifold will do after a season ?

Did you ever have the chance to run pressure/vacuum leakage tests? Looking at Tom Lechs tests I am kind of hesitating getting something. The price is tempting, but it must perform, or it's useless.
