She is mistaken - it isn't hate, no one hates her for doing this. It is mockery and well deserved mockery for being given an opportunity she clearly wasn't capable of fulfilling. Part of being an adult is knowing when you are not up to the task, knowing your best just won't be good enough and walking away. She clearly didn't do that and now this is the result.
