"She's got her jaws now locked down in a smile but nothing is alright, alright." Such powerful lyrics.

Radio stations: “This song is too explicit and vulgar.”

Hollywood: “THE PROTAGONIST SHOWS UP TO HIS FIRST DAY OF MIDDLE SCHOOL!”

This song had got me through both active use and recovery

This song paints a perfect portrait. Captures the moment of being high with the bittersweet feeling of knowing you will come down.

Just a radio friendly, upbeat song you can listen to with your family.

I'm terrible w lyrics. I had no idea this song was so dark. It's only took me 22 years to figure that out. These guys had serious talent. 4 chords to make me happy.

Love when bands like for example cheap trick or the police would make these upbeat songs with real dark lyrics that would be masked by the happy melodies. Love that.

Weirdly, this song is more relatable as a _recovered_ addict. Like, back when I was in *deep, * I was so emotionally chaotic that this song felt off. It's not until years after getting sober, when I can look back and remember it as the happy, sex-filled, hellish, car crash that it was, that this song feel appropriate.

If I could speak to my 16 year old self listening to this, I'd say don't worry about the maltreatment and fear caused by dad, childhood will be the worst, emotions are difficult to express, and your self esteem will get better with time. The bruises heal, but the memory of it all will be a vivid reminder that never goes away.
I love you Dad.
I miss you Dad.

I remember loving this song as a child and having no idea what it was about. One day I became an adult and I knew what it was about. Then I tried meth and really knew what it was about. I remember listening to this song on meth and it felt amazing. Then I got arrested and it screwed me up for a long time. But the good news is I only did meth for a month before I stopped and never touched it again. It's been almost six years since the last time I did it.

Stephan Jenkins is one of the most underrated songwriters of all time hands down.

This is the happiest crystal meth song I’ve ever heard

Light-hearted music with a serious lyrical base is nothing new, even in the 90s, but my nostalgia for hearing this song as a kid makes it instinctually more impactful to realize the true content of the song now that I'm old enough to actually listen to the words.

This hits so different now that I've gone through my recovery. Jesus christ.

How on earth does anyone remember all these lyrics, then put them into music, so seamlessly, brilliant!!

I was a kid when this song came out so now revisited again as adult and shook that the lyrics were actually that vulgar. The song still amazing and heck we do need something more to be able to go through this life, pandemic even. So kudos to you holding on in this hard times of life, at least music makes us happy
