BB king’s guitar string broke mid song, just like him, he replaced the string while still going at.

Actually stevie had already proven that he's a badass, all this proved is that his roadie is also a badass and that they have a great connection to be able to make that switch so smoothly.

SRV is one of my favorite blues musician. I consider him a G.O.A.T. of Blues. R.I.P. Stevie Ray Vaughn you are dearly missed. I always wonder what kind of music he would have put out all these years later.

Love this! It's like when B. B. King broke a string and changed the string right there on stage while still singing! Musicians like this - BADASS!!!

The string break is iconic, but SRV literally saved my life and if it wasn’t for an interview I watched him do I would of quit guitar and never fulfilled my passion and love for music and guitar..When he passed away they were gathering all of his belongings and going through his equipment..A guitar was recovered from his vault that SRV had legit replaced the guitar strings with BASS strings! (lower 3 strings (E, A, D)..SRV is the only guitarist I could see doing this and it actually being true..It would make sense just by watching him play live..he doesn’t do pick strokes, but straight ATTACKS each note with a purpose and he said in an interview he looked at each note as unique and with its own story to tell..that has stuck with me ever since I heard it and has changed the way I approach playing, especially when writing my own material..now instead of sitting and getting frustrated when Progress has halted when writing my own material, I take what I have written already, basically a rough draft and reevaluate each note and phrase like SRV.. basically looking for ways to breath life into each note allowing it to have its own unique voice to speak and tell its own story..One note can speak to the listener with anger or sadness while another note can speak with Strength/power, happiness or even be mysterious and subtle..This advice alone motivated me and was the point I became more serious about playing guitar..I went from learning my favorite songs to finally being able to write my own riffs and material..I was finally confident enough in my ability to grab my guitar and actually put in the time & dedication it truly takes to make it a reality..enhance each note with whatever emotion you’re feeling at the time you’re writing your own material..It can be hard to do sometimes but I find it helps before you ever pick up your guitar to go ahead and decide what kind of session you’re feeling that day so you’ll be able to mentally prepare yourself in advance before you ever start playing..this way you have a clear path and set goal for that day and can attack it full force as soon as you start playing..pick and choose the type of practice you feel strongly about that day whether it’s a technique day, focusing on developing speed and dexterity or focusing strictly on writing your own material and music..either way you will mentally be prepared to kick its ass and gives you a small goal to achieve that day which in turn allows us to give ourselves a pat on the back at the end of the session instead of being negative or getting frustrated at the guitar and abruptly ending the jam session leaving you angry and not motivated to play guitar at all or even develop resentment towards the instrument to the point when you look at it it frustrates you and makes you feel negative emotion instead of that love and passion you once felt before..that’s exactly what happened to me and I just thought I plateaued and wasn’t going to progress past the point I was at and at that point. I fucked up because I mentally told myself “well shit, It’s been a few months and I’m not getting any better so mine as well quit” That immediately turned guitar from something I fell in love with and couldn’t go a day without playing to something negative and that didn’t like anymore..My mind went to fuck it mode and started telling myself I never liked playing guitar anyways and was a waste of time ..I went from living and breathing guitar to telling myself it was a piece of shit and the reason I’m angry and frustrated whe. In reality it was the complete opposite..I was angry because I was allowing my mind to dictate how I felt about something I had already figured out a long time ago I couldn’t live without..SRV said to always remember the first feeling you had when you got to play a guitar for the first time..he said no matter what you will never lose that because it’s ingrained in your heart and soul and once you feel that connection it’s impossible to deny no matter how much you tell yourself the opposite..music is universal and the one thing we can all agree on because everyone has a favorite song or something they like musically..math and music are the only universal truths, so regardless of what my young self was trying to convince me of, SRV was 100% and that one day the music will always find its place in your heart and soul
