As for shoes falling apart, rubber will harden if stored in extremely hot and dry places and will become nearly impossible to walk in. Sneakers with a rubber midsole usually age well otherwise. Polyurethane midsoles will fall apart over time so it's a good idea to wear them now and then. Such sneakers include Jordan 4s, 5s, 6s, and 8s. Nike largely replaced polyurethane with phylon in the mid 90s, which is much more durable. Air bubbles themselves tend to become brittle after 15-20 years and can pop and deflate.

10:42 it’s true for the ones with the mid soles that r made with polyurethane so 2, 3, 4 and others, overtime it crumbles. 1s don’t as it’s rubber. Wearing them prevents it from happening
