SMALLEST CROWD EVER for the WORST TEAM IN HISTORY

Under 100 people in attendance? YES, at the start and guess what? Even with a "crowd" like this, you can use code ZACK15 for 15% off tickets on SeatGeek:

Why was Guaranteed Rate Field so empty? First of all, the Chicago White Sox are HISTORICALLY bad this season, and second, this was an unexpected doubleheader that got scheduled for 4:10pm after the previous night's game got rained out.

Meanwhile I was excited for ballhawking paradise. Imagine being able to sit ANYwhere you want -- where would you go? One thing was certain: I had to be in right field whenever Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager stepped up to the plate because he was going for his 200th career home run. If EVER there was a good chance to snag a milestone, this was it.

You might notice that the 2024 Derby ball is *not* on that page on my website. The reason is that it has the same logo as the 2016 Derby ball, and I only post photos of different logos, and sure, you could argue that the year on the ball is different and/or that the logo is smaller than it used to be, but in my opinion those variations aren't worthy of showing the ball twice -- or SIX times since I also snagged nearly identical Derby balls in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.

There's something just eerie about an empty stadium, kinda like an abandoned amusement park. But, many games a year are seen with minimal fans attending and 80% empty seats. I don't see how they afford to even open the stadiums like that.

The only game the white Sox have sold out this year was on Wednesday June 26th, when they played the dodgers on Mexican Heritage night. It was great experience and atmosphere having the stadium filled to capacity for once.

I have been to over 620 major league baseball games in my Braves and even got close to catching a baseball! I did see Hank Aaron's only walk off Grand Slam in 1962 and ages later spent 2 hours sitting next to him at a Bucks game talking Life....I'd call it even!

It's like a couple of beer league teams won a contest to play in a big league park!😂

It was a pleasure meeting you Zack, that made my whole week. I’ve been snagging balls since 2018 because of you. Thank you. 19:10

This is just sad to see. I’m a cubs fan and whenever I go to games at Wrigley, it’s usually packed. Then I see this. And the team. And the record: I’m sorry for you southsiders out there. You deserve way better than this.

I already knew it was the white Sox when you said “worst team is history”

I'm a Cubs fan, originally from Chicago. The Sox ownership has been DOA for years. Reinsdorf really doesn't care, he owns the Bulls, too, and they have seen better days as well.

It sucks that he has allowed a storied franchise sink into such mediocrity. The first All Star game was played there, at Old Comiskey Park. That place was old, definitely outdated, but, A freaking baseball palace. It looked and smelled like a historic ballpark, I always had fun going to Old Comiskey. I saw a bunch if hall of famers from the AL play there.

The new field was really sterile, until they did some changes to make it more comfortable and baseball like. Its not so bad now. The funny part is, GR Field is only 15 minutes or so from where I lived, but, I'm a Cubs fan. It took a lot longer to get up to Wrigley.

Glad you had a great time, baseball is always more fun in person.

Great video! I was at the second game that evening. We were sitting 4 rows behind the 3rd base dugout. My friend inadvertently "caught" a foul ball when it sailed over his head, ricocheted back toward the field and landed between his back and his seat. Sox fans are the best. Even with the small crowd and the Sox inept season, they still maximize fun at the ballpark. Almost a walk-off. That catch was incredible. Coincidentally, my wife and I were also at the Tigers game in Detroit on Jim Leyland Day. Unfortunately, I did not spot you at either game.

As much as I hate to see an empty stadium, it’s a great place to be. Awesome judgement on getting the foul ball. You are the best at what you do! Thanks for the video Zack.

It breaks my heart seeing the state of the White Sox. I am a lifelong 59 year old die hard fan. Sox Park is my favorite place in the world. The place I feel most at home. I've been to 2 games this season. I use to attend 30-40 a year. This is all on ownership. We are a proud, but not dumb fan base

Third largest city in the country, and the entire crowd could go to the same restaurant for dinner afterwards. But, the taxpayers guarantee attendance and the owners are asking for taxpayers to build them a new this one's not yet paid for. Yeah. Makes sense, right?

Being here in Chocagoland the only one I feel for is Whitesox PA announcer the legend himself Gene Honda, for him Blackhawks season can't come soon enough.

It reminds me, as a kid when I was in a Expos game on the 1st row behind the dugout and Brad Fullmer never wanted to throw me the ball as he was returning to the bench after each inning. He played one or two season with the Jays anyways and that's it. That Rangers' player was much cool. There was still much people in the attendance in Montreal back then, for the 1st White Sox game.

I'm a 71 year old White Sox fan. My first baseball hero was Nellie Fox. My favorite White Sox Pitcher was Gary Peters. I was on a photo assignment during the 2005 World Series and cheered from my lowly highway motel room as my White Sox OBLITERATED the playoff and finals competition. I almost gave up on the team this year, but I bought a couple White Sox caps on Ebay and will wear them in hopes that thethe Sox will be restored once again to greatness.💥🏆👍

Props to the ChiSox faithful that continue to show up during this abysmal season...

Awesome vid Zack. BIG hook up from Bobby with those commemoratives! And a MLB game being this empty is what ALL of my dreams look like. It’s odd knowing the minor league games that I go to attract better crowds than the Sox this year 😂
