I'm watching this to the end even though I already have about a dozen pens already.

I often recommend your 101 series to friends who show interest in fountain pens and am pleased to see you're updating it. I bet it will be even better than the old version, which was excellent. Write on!

In germany we already write with fountain pens in elementary school and i kept it after school and still like to write with fountain pens today. My favorite combination is the Leuchtturm 1917 120g notebook with a lamy al star fountain pen. Very nice video and i'm looking forward to more parts of the fountain pen 101 series. Tank you.

Brian, I have watched you since earlier 2000’s. You were my go to then and now. You are my brother in the fountain pen community.

*Fantastic!* I'm SOOO glad you're updating this! I watched ALL the others that you made when I "discovered" Fountain Pens in February. Brian, thank you! (and team!)

I’ve had my 30ml bottle of ancient copper since 2021. It’s not even close to half finished and I’ve used it consistently the entire time. So a year or more is an understatement!

This, as we so expect yet are no less surprised and awed when it happens, was incredible. Brian, thank you for always being the über-champion and Super hero of our underdeserved hobby, pastime, and principle(s) as to why we “fountain pen.” Such the “post-person” and spokesperson as no other can… you are. We are all so blessed by how you and yours continue to eloquently and unignorably give voice, visuals, and value to this incomparable implement, its menagerie of art form and plethora of design and aesthetics and its majestic artistry that is timeless… again, thank you, Brian Goulet. With warmth and kindness, XM

Before getting into fountain pens, my ideal pen was a liquid rollerball, namely the Pilot Precise V5. I still have one of the ones I had back in 2005 or so, though I highly doubt it works anymore. Nowadays, I use fountain pens for about 90% of my writing and have gotten a lot of interesting comments on them, especially if I'm out in public.

Because of the pencast and a broken wrist (even a year later it still hurts) I started my FP journey two months ago. We had a pair of Parker 45 Flighters laying around and I instantly became a fan. I now have added a Vista and some Jinhao 82’s to the collection and several more on the wishlist as future rewards if I reach my goals :).

Thanks Brian, Drew, and the rest of the team! Your content is much appreciated even though the shipping across the Atlantic is out of reach for me for now…one day maybe… ;)

Thanks for taking the time to update your 101 series.I followed them religiously when they firs came out. I’m sure the next crop of newbies will appreciate the content. I’ll probably watch them as well as I’m a dedicated follower of the channel. Thanks.

I have a few fountain pens as I think it's not just a novelty but so much more fun to write on as it brings out a different character in my handwriting that ballpoints pens can't. So glad I chance upon your videos as it's a very good start for me to learn more about fountain pens! Thank you!!

Had to get a cartridge pen in the 11th grade for a school project. Everyone said how much better my handwriting looked. That and the green ink I could use got me hooked. That was 1982? I now have a couple dozen fountain pens and inks. I’m still learning a lot from you. 🙂

An instant bonding tool.
Attend meeting with pen in hand.
Coworker sees your pen, gets excited and shows you their pen.
Instant friendship. Great minds think alike.
Also, the Goulet company is an excellent company to buy pens and ink from.

I am so glad I found you here on youtube, as an artist I don't know how I lived without fountain pens until now.

Thank you, Brian! Although I may not learn too much from these videos (after watching every minute of 89 pencasts and many of the shorter videos), I will watch any and every video from GPC for their charm, delight, and the passion for these wonderful writing instruments and their accompanying products of ink and paper. As you and Drew so often point out - what a great community!

This is come at the perfect time! I bought a fountain pen for my niece for her 18th birthday and have written a note with the address to this vid! She'll have a better intro to fountain pens than I did, and for that... thank you!!
